            | SCTROOPER | Upstate S.C. | I was told it is a good idea to go ahead and spray your patch with merit 75 wp before planting...Is this true and if so how much should be sprayed... | 4/16/2009 2:25:04 PM |

            | TruckTech1471 | South Bloomfield, Ohio | Good advice trooper. 1/10 tsp. per gallon of water and drench. Repeat in 30 days. Personally, I apply it in granular form over the entire patch first and drench the 75wp four weeks later. | 4/16/2009 8:01:03 PM |

            | LIpumpkin | Long Island,New York | Why would you want to do this? | 4/16/2009 10:44:40 PM |

            | Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings | Menomonie, WI ([email protected]) | Apply it right when you plant...any before hand is a waste. Merit has at least a 60 day life span some of you are over applying it. Which is why it is a controlled pesticide. Read your instruction and precautions | 4/16/2009 11:30:47 PM |

            | Tremor | [email protected] | 4 level teaspoons in as much water as you like to treat 1000 sq ft. | 4/17/2009 1:59:28 PM |

            | SCTROOPER | Upstate S.C. | Tremor, thanks could you weigh in alittle on this one. I mean should I apply BEFORE I PLANT, to the whole patch or wait until I plant. | 4/19/2009 3:22:06 PM |

            | Bohica (Tom) | Www.extremepumpkinstore.com | Trooper,We have always applied to plants when we put them out, it is a systemic and it needs to get into the root zone for the plant to take it up, we add a little fish with the mixture as it helps permiate through the plant faster, this was per Tremors recommendation.
I dont agree with the 60 to 90 day applications, in 60 days the plants have grown almost to full capacity and I feel (this is a personal opinion) that alot of plant will be untreated, I apply every 30 days. Since we begun doing this we have not had any bug problems....I wonder if they make a merit for woodchucks?....LOL

            | Peace, Wayne | Owensboro, Ky. | Tom, I understand yer periodic rate thing, more often, cause of the size of plant growth!! You said two things that caught my eye..."applied to plants" & "needs to get into the root zone for the plant to take it up"...so do we spray foliar, or soil drench? Peace, Wayne | 4/20/2009 11:29:57 PM |

            | Bohica (Tom) | Www.extremepumpkinstore.com | Sorry for the Confusion Wayne, I apply as a drench.Tom
