One of the curled sections with a whitish tint on the bottom reminds me of a spider mite problem I had last year. Good spraying of the area with Talstar took care of them. The other side of the leaf does look like a sun or chemical burn. Just a guess here. But if leaves that are effected get real wilty in the heat it could be a mite problem.

also looks like sunburn if you ask me.

with mites the leaves dry out but they never go blackish ... they go yellow then brown.
