I went down to check my melons this evening and Nuts was leaking. I thought about still taking it to Allardt but it was pretty bad and couldn't wait two more days; so I had to save the seeds. It never got as dramatic looking as I had hoped it would anyway.I will post a picture or 2 in my growers diary. I should have taken it to the Tennessee State Fair in Nashville as I had originally thought about.Live and learn I guess.

The melon was sitting on a piece of plywood. I think it didn't have the good drainage like it would have had had it been on 2 x 4's. I put the melon on there because it had stability problems early on. It was a little top heavy. Yes PW, I will still be at Allardt with what I hope will be a somewhat competitive melon, my 231 Mitchell. And I think Pam will bring her 230 Edwards; it should go around 170 pounds.
