I'm curious, is watermelon more of a warm climate fit than pumpkin?

Well obviously squash/pumpkin are more akin to what is grown in cold weather climes because they are shorter season, and watermelons are a longer season and generally grown down south. But it is not impossible to grow watermelons in the north. I have been know to do just that.

I don't even try to grow pumpkins down here. I don't know how Doug and Lee do it. More skills I guess.
