            | UpperPineRunner | Linden,PA | Trailor... What is the difference between a sib and a self?Thanks, Mark

            | pap | Rhode Island | a selfed pumpkin is pollinated with pollon from the same plant the fruit is grown on.sibbed you would need pollon from a second plant grown from the same seed stock.

            | UpperPineRunner | Linden,PA | Yes, Thanks for the clarification Pap. I thought it was that way after I posted the question. Is one really better than the other?

            | ArvadaBoy | Midway, UT | Sibbs have been prefered to selfs generally because some pumpkins like the 1450 Wallace (1068 x sibb) have preformed well. I don't believe there is any real data that proves that however. I think we will see more self and sibb seeds grown in the future as we see more success with each. | 12/7/2008 6:04:41 PM |

            | big pumpkin dreamer | Gold Hill, Oregon | thanks papi was trying to find some sib seeds with no luck. i take it that "sib" is short for "sibling" (brother or sister). i'm learning new things all of the time.
