               here are the seeds I have so far. what are my best 3? For I know little about genetics. And what would make my best cross? 1245    BAILEY    02 595    BEACHY    02 1317    BOBIER    05 838     BOBIER    02 979     BOYTON      05 556.6      BOYTON    05 490.5    BOYTON    05 1048    COX        02?    I GREW ONE 03 TO 900LBS IN BAHAMAS 803.4    DAVIES    02 766    DAVIES    03 473    DAVIES    03 690    GARRELL    03 375    GARRELL    03 350    GARRELL    03 659.5     GREGORY    02 600    GREGORY    02 561.5    GREGORY    02 540     GREGORY    02 926    HUNT        04? 839    HUNT        04 648     MASTON    00 1036     PEREZ        04?     800.5    PEREZ        04? 893.5    PUKOS        04?         976    REID        06 578    STURCH    04? 569    STURCH    04? 451    STURCH    04? 412    TURNER    04    ONLY ONE GROWN PRODUCED OVER 250 FEMALES 790    WERNER    02 917    WOLF        02 235     WRIGHT    04?

The two I would grow from this list are:
926 Hunt (1097.5 Beachy x 842 Eaton) - both parents are top producers and the 926 has produced two over 700. 893.5 Pukos 01 (723 Bobier x self) - 723 needs no introduction and the 893.5 itself has gone over 1100.
If I had to choose a third it would probably be the 1317. In that case I would cross the 926 and the 1317 as they are both half 842 Eaton 02.
Alternatively you could wait until you get your gleanings of this season's seeds.

I'd go with the 1317 Bobier, 976 Reid and the 1048 Cox. But a cross between the 893.5 and the 1048 would be interesting.
