Not always. Sometimes after transplanting plant stops growing for few days.

If a plant is about 1 month old...does anybody know approximately how extensive they will be? The reason I am wondering is so I know how close I can till. Thanks.

One month in my garden this year you would need to stay away fifteen inches or so from the drip line of the plant.
