Are snake gourds and Long Gourds the same except that the snake gourd runs along the ground and the long gourd hangs from a trellis of some sort? Tom

Nope snake gourds are a smaller variety of the long gourd..I guess it would be like comparing a Howden to a pie pumpkin.
