i have sprinklers set up in my patch, and i am wondering is it ok for the pumpkins to get wet three times a day, or do i need to cover them up so they will stay dry. thanks

I say keep them dry. Last year the blossom end on my pumpkin started rotting, which I attribute to it getting wet.

Keep the pumpkin dry. Use an umbrella or set up a tarp to cover the pumpkin. Last lear I used rebar, gray pvc pipe, and a tarp clipped on with Big Binder clips. Worked very well and was easy to take off if needed. Mark

This too me depends on few things , like how fast do they dry off & wet stem could be real problem , also some pumpkins would have place that water would stay on top , But mostly where pumpkin sets on ground should not stay wet all the time & if water is going down sides of pumpkin than its getting ground wet under pumpkin !! Iv rotted one because of having dirt too high on back , not even that wet !!

How about putting the pumkins on wooden slates? Wes Glendora, Ca
