Could someone please explain to me what molasses does and how much to apply and when. thanks

Molasses helps to feed the bio-ecology and contains some trace elements. I use it weekly, mixing at 8 oz. per gallon of water and drenching in. Some may say the rate is a bit high, but I don't think too much is a possibilty here. I'm talking about feed grade stuff here.
