And this evening I had one of those moments where you remember something that you have known forever but didn't recall at the right time. I cleaned out my ibc tote that I mix fertilizer in, it had a bunch of precipitate at the bottom. At that moment I remember my liquid fertilizer dealer several years ago telling me to watch what I mixed with the boron because it will precipitate. When I applied boron I also mixed in other fertilizer. I think my boron level in the soil is lower than it should be because a bunch of it was sitting at the bottom of my tank. Lesson learned, next time I'll apply the boron by itself.

Interesting. Add that one pile of "I applied it but I'm not seeing any effect."

Good question about the copper. Mine have tested low sometimes... I think it affects the leaves and probably the pumpkin. In bad cases the leaves may change color and/or be slightly or highly perforated with cracks/holes. But I haven't seen an extreme case of copper deficiency in the garden that I'm totally certain about, but I have seen it on some local trees.

I'm concerned that cracks in leaves might also mean cracks in pumpkins, but that's speculative. Perhaps it is a factor, one of many factors.

I'm not seeing any sign of deficiency in regards to the copper. I do know that low copper levels can effect seed quality in other crops, not sure if that's the case in these things.
