Since one can gauge their general pumpkin shape at this stage (long vs tall vs sphere), do you cull based on that or select a keeper in the target zone?
I ask since I know aesthetics are a big part of your growing and you're pretty good at it year after year.

In this case, I have to go with this one because the plant is already at the edge of the patch. Generally, since most fruit on a plant tend to have the same shape, I select a keeper in the target zone and how the flower is positioned on the vine...
