So how long does it take once you spot a mega bloom to open? New to growing giants. Any advice welcome. Also how big does the plant need to be to pollinate a mega? Thanks

I'll take a swing at the first question. I think it's similar to pumpkins. It might be 7-14 days after you spot the bud in the tip. If you really dig down into the growing tip you might see it forming 3 weeks ahead of time. I think this is similar to pumpkins, as far as the limits of digging into the future. Also they will be a pale yellow prior to being fully open. As with pumpkins, once a hint of pale yellow shows, they will possibly be ready the next day.

You can polinate a tiny plant. Do not wait for the plant to grow bigger if you have a good megabloom. The plant will grow up just fine and the tomato with it. It's not like pumpkins. Get that mega to set no matter what the size. Once it sets if the plant seems too small yet just let it grow a bit before terminating the growth.
