Are ants a bad thing in the garden? the other afternoon i looked inside a female flower and it had a bunch of ants inside. I think the female is pollinated. but it just doesnt seem good. watcha y'all think?

If I see yellow ants in my patch I get out the heavy duty insecticides. Twice I have had plants die suddenly and found that yellow ants had eaten all the roots off at the stump.

normal ants are fine. The ones that stink when you smash them. My vines are an ant highway every year and they don't bother the plant.
