Dealing with disappointment but also gratefulness. This pumpkin had potential to surpass 1000 lbs and it was trending in that direction. Then came the RAIN. We had horrible August rains that I've never seen in my lifetime. Multiple downpours consisting of 2+ inches of rain each downpour. Heavy storms. A derecho. Everything has been soggy for weeks, right at that critical 20DAP-40DAP time period. I'm grateful this pumpkin never split and has held on through all the weather. It was choking on rain during critical growth time so I know we won't see 1000lbs. I'm hoping to get to 600lbs in the next 48 days. It tapes at 550lbs now. Overall- happy to still have a pumpkin, even though it's not the size I wanted.
