When you have outdoor temperatures between 38 and 43 degrees Celsius (100-112 degrees Fahrenheit) for two months, the only way to keep the plants alive is to increase humidity, provide shade, and use fans. But with these temperatures and humidity levels of 80-85% every day, diseases thrive. Disease has ruined areas 2618 and 2183 for me. I cut the two main vine before the pumpkins, in a healthy area. The pumpkins have been dormant for weeks, so I don't mind cleaning up all these areas. I've laid down plastic sheeting to solarize that section of soil for the rest of August and September to try and eliminate the pathogens, which is where I've seen the most.My other plant is Ok,Last year I had watermelons in that area, it seems that area is perfect.
