Culled the 17-footer. All-in at 21 feet.

She was healthy, symmetrical, and at 11 DAP sitting around volleyball size. Cut her open and everything looked good inside: solid wall thickness, seeds developing, clean flesh. No regrets on the pollination. She just wasn't pushing the skin tight the way I wanted to see, and the daily growth numbers weren't where they needed to be.

The 21-footer is officially the horse. Only 3.5 DAP so it's early, but she looks like a confirmed pollination. Great stem, good size ovary going in, more mature plant at pollination, and 110 days to the Sam Mazza's weigh-off. The timing is as good as it gets.

Built out a proper shelter over her tonight along with a cold frame to keep her at 70 degrees overnight through the cell division phase. Vermont nights are still dropping into the 40's.

Daytime highs in the 70's and 80's for the foreseeable future. Time to find out if I made the right 'cull'.
