Top: the blossom underneath was tucked way up into the squash, so when it was carved the top stem area of the squash was resting on, and fused to, the blossom end.
I have not seen this flesh-fusing thing before. It made a seat inside the squash which was great for paddling. The round, ribbed, abd relatively heavy shape was not good for paddling however.
Final weight 676.5 lbs/ 19% hvy. Small by most standards! Oh well.
