Awesome! I'd just choose the healthiest plant so it takes, and you have viable seeds to work with next year. But, why not your own since you are bringing back a 25 yr old seed?

I saw the Sherwood in person and it was flawless. So its a good option.

2453 would be the biggest and most genetically diverse. Leaves out the 2365 which reduces the current genetic bottle neck. Plus its was the biggest Howard Dill. Just saying I know how you love those orange plaques. No matter what this 25 year throw back will be your seed. That is my vote. Keep us posted.

You might consider selfing it and using it to pollinate as your "must have "cross.

1727 NELSON. Lucky "7s". Considering the lineage of both seeds loaded with old time orange genetics going back to the famous 567 MOMBERT as an example. However if going for future genetics why not do one of each on plant? OK maybe won't get a massive one, but nice 600 to 1,000 lb. plus HDs. Try that curve ball Shannon lol. Good luck!

There's a trace of 567 MOMBERT going way back in the 1727 NELSON. 869 CALAI direct to motherhood 567.
