Theres gonna be a small tissue defect at 6:15 of the blossum scar. Also that lobe may develop assymetrically .Theres been champion pumpkins grown on them and thats not a real bad looking one. Theyre a little more risky than a seemingly perfect blossum.

Pollinate a couple side vine fruit just in case. You'll probably know by day 20 if this one is going to be trouble.

There is nothing wrong with growing one on a secondary. I like to try to reduce the number of potential future problems when growing these things.

Luke, where do you live? I recently met a guy who lives near St Louis who is looking for other growers in the area.

Herniated... It could be a weak spot because its not correctly constructed.

Thanks for all the input. I'll see what it does and pollinate what I can on the sides.

CoJoe, hopefully this is a successful one.

Vineman Russ, I am outside of StL. I know of 1 other pkn grower within an hour of me and I got him started. He's got lots of land and potential. There are 2 other growers on BP, but I think they are a few hours away.

Luke, his name is Shawn Brinker. His cell is 314-486-7023. Send him a text & tell him I gave you his contact info! He is coming to see my patch in Oregon on Monday. Thanks!
