It's time to give the main patch a break after 10 years of growing in the same spot. So I will compete in the 150 ft. contest this year. My goal is 1000 pounds. I've grown in this spot a couple of times with my personal best at 788 pounds. Getting things prepped today. The broad Fork is a game changer.

Pre-amendment til. After sitting all winter, the Honda started on the first pull. These tillers are gold. Can't get one in California anymore. At least not a new one.

These two tomato plants came up as volunteers. In case you weren't convinced our winter has been usual, they are loaded with fruit. It's mid March? Woah.
I will have to move them as they're in the path of progress!

Did I say it's hot here? Record heatwave. Not all bad if you need/want to do a little pre-season solarization. Watered the soil good, laid down 3mil clear plastic and sealed the edges.

This is what we're going for. 110 degrees Fahrenheit or more. 4-6 weeks is ideal.
Did you know that solarization kills weed seeds? How cool is that?

Soil test is back. This is the flowerbed patch. The soil in here was hot when it was put in and is still loaded.
