This 940.6 Gerry (2003 Haist X 1200 Adams (2145 X 1495)) has been growing since...

Yup. 10-28-25. It was Jiffy Seed-Starting Mix, Natural and Organic with MYCORRHIZAL INOCULANT, Bio Grow Endo Plus from Holland's Land O' Giants, lol, mixed in when it was sprouting time, 2025! The BGEP is about 4 years old to begin with, butt if I look at my seed experiments, I know I can see the fuzz and the filaments collectively; SO, it remains effective for a very long time if it is used and then dried out and maybe even frozen, etc. I don't have a microscope, but I know it's there. I simply put failed or no-longer-needed sproutings in the freezer, snap them off the next day and toss in the trash once that plant is no longer needed. I keep the cup and SS Mix and use it for anything I want, then. In this case, a test, for some reason, in October, of the 940.6. eg

It was a 2-footer!

This must be the first pic of it once I had transferred it from one light to the other. I miss reaching for the light knob and having to gently push a leaf outta the way, lol. It seems to be growing at like a 1/2-inch-per-day rate butt who knows. eg

This is it as of yesterday. I had been watering randomly into that little plastic cup with regular-strength (1TBSP/GAL H2O) Expert Gardener 24-8-16 since this plant was able to cry and just yesterday switched to Miracle-Gro 10-52-10 to severely initiate blooming and a PUMPKIN to begin forming, lol. Lighting is completely random, from a 14-watt LED Walmart Great Value Bulb; I have aspirations to get a 4-pack of 200-watt-equivalent bulbs for ALL lighting, even for ME. I doubt VERY much that it'd be doing even this well without Mycorrhizae as a key soil component. It is forming plenty of males all over it. Time to party! eg

More experiments! Ha ha, I wish it were a 5-gallon bucket, butt it's a prescription bottle. The cap has been kept on and slightly loose to avoid dehydration, being on such a small scale...ha ha.

Graphic growth in effect, lol; This is about a 1/2 TBSP. Bio Grow Endo Plus with a 166 Gerry seed that was placed into it to fend for itself with 1/2 TBSP. of H20 as well, the idea being to see how well a seed will grow with nothing butt Mycor! I DID pick off the seed coat and chop it up a bit and toss it in there for the Mycor to feed upon. Further ideas are that the terrarium effect will recycle the H2O enough to live and let live; In any event, I'm happy with the growth rate and the roots a-rootin'! The Mycor is I believe adept at producing glomalin, which sticks soil particles together with many wondrous benefits. It was clear that it had coated the Mycor (Bio Grow) soil granules to exhibit a 'glossy' texture. So, I knew it was working. eg

Here's the method I used for when I wanted to create a 'balloon' top for the prescription bottle; Some Giant Magic Marker from Dollar General and I carved out the inner material of the bottle cap. Lucky I have fingers left, lol. Then, simply shoving the Saran Wrap up through and using the 'neck' of the marker, I was able to use my box cutter to just go around it and cut it off, to-size. 4-5 more and I'll be good at it, lol. eg

Too long-winded to explain, butt you get it. This can probably be used for any-sized container project, although by THAT size and time, well, season to taste, lol. eg
Tuesday, February 17 View Page
A few days later, having probably been in 'The Dark Room' (a linen closet) a day or 2 at a time to initiate rapid stem elongation, where the 'balloon top' is allowing the leaves to expand and please NOTE the label having been started to be peeled away, slowly, by fingernail. eg
Tuesday, February 17 View Page
Neat! Using the infinitely-wide countertop surface, the label can be easily pulled, still slowly butt more-rewardingly, from the bottle. Uneven tension is the #1 cause of torn labels, nation-wide. I don't have a lot of hair, butt I AM doing my part. Haaaaaaa... eg

Da roots do be goin' crazy---eg
Thursday, February 19 View Page
This was like 3 days ago; What I found was that I could use the plastic wrap to 'tuck in' around the stem like a turtleneck to retain moisture.;. This haphazard method was open to letting any water in that I would give to this 166; I put this in with the other seeds I have growing for better light acquisition and to simply keep it in mind (;,;) - - - I had forgotten it in the linen closet for a day, lol...eg

I was surprised that the seed leaves began getting flimsy even though the sides of the container were showing plenty of hydration; Now, we all know what a desert is, basically, so, maybe I should research that definition... Nope. I'm not any smarter from researching that, butt for my pill bottle DESERT, I'll say that the water that was visible was of course nowhere else and when I would tip the bottle to see any runoff from the BOTTOM, granular/coated surface, there was none. So, I added probably a teaspoon's worth or what it took to initiate runoff and the next time I checked the seed leaves, they were back to 'normal' turgidity. SO, the H20, with its surface tension, can be 'right there', butt not where you want it, which I knew, butt sometimes, a reminder is in order. I do have another experiment where this was again a hindrance. HAND---Have A Nice Day!

Well, 'semi-unfortunately', this old buzzard is still growing at a snail's pace, where the main vine was being 'cooked' by the heat of the light bulb, now back to the 14-watter that was there to begin with. I had 'hoped' that it was a done deal, BUT, the survivalist in the AG will prevail. I may now get some Jiffy and mix it up to +Mycor status and plug this Natural Wonder's 2nd half of its vine into that and see if that'll continue on as if nothing happened. 2 options: Cut off and transplant the 2nd half or Live and Let Live for the original as shown. These plants have got THE life! eric g

Here's my 443 test plant in bucket #2; It's not possible to show the gigantic, 27-watt/200-Watt-equivalent bulbs from Walmart, lol; The glare of 3000 Lumens is just too much! My light at the usual end of the couch has a switch that is 'hanging by a thread' and it literally was threatening to be a fire hazard, so, only the other end of the couch will be for 'High-Powered' seed testing, lol. And even then...cooked the main vine. Well, I'll know, next time. This is a '14 seed. Sprouted effortlessly - now it grows stockily. The extra cup has awl-pricked, OUTWARD holes X 3 in it for if I add water-soluble fertilizer, it does not disturb the soil that would be otherwise and reduces thermal shock just SlIghTly. eg

This must be Bucket #1; There are 3 551 Gerry '25 plants growing here. They have come along by about 4 inches each since this pic was taken, heading every which way and I accidentally broke off the growing tip of the farthest-left one. It will be taken over by the next-available, secondary bud. THAT always shows how quickly an AG can grow, on the smallest of 'scales', lol. eg

Another Mycor-only experiment! This time, NO seed coat left to help the plants fend, lol. Gotta take another pic, right away. The Bio-Grow Endo Plus is starting to be 'wet beach-like'; The exposed roots look like those of a mangrove forest! eg

There are I believe 5 females in this pic of my 206.1 and if so, the 5th is not visible, butt in the next pic... Wooo-hoo---eg
Wednesday, March 11 View Page
...there are REALLY 5 OtHeRs, the 5th being barely visible in the fuzziness, lol. eg more...

This is from the bottom of the vine after the first 4-5 got poll'd by Self; The resulting keeper (there would have been more with more fert, IMHO) was about 87 pounds and reasonably-orange, but in RL (Real Life) was a sure thing to sell, and it surely did; There was a normal grower on a side vine that also aborted - I did not want the main fruit to go as well, so, it all worked out. Natural Selection, I guess, but if you give more, you COULD get more. 'They did The Vine. They did The Monster Vine...', lol. eg
Wednesday, March 11 View Page
I mean, great fun, unless it were your only plant, lol. This seed also grows a normal, dark orange-producing plant 2/3 of the time and it has grown a 239 with an 88 AND an 89 or so on it also that all went like hotcakes. 206.1 Gerry (20 Gerry '10 (PrizeWinner X 689.5 Sandercock (869.5 Calai X Self) X Self); I did well in math; I guess English plays a role here as well, lol. I think it's right... Well, 'done' is always better for peace of mind than 'done right' (correctly), until the grading, lol...eg

Well, to speed up the finishing up of my previous experiments, I'll pretty-much only depict the end results as I go, if possible. These are two 166 seeds that were grown solely in BioGrow Endo Plus from Holland's Land O' Giants bought like nearly 4 years ago; They have had NO fertilizer applied - only spring tap water and BGEP. Nothing else, for how many days? Hmmm...Since 2-17-26, where I had already placed 1/2 cup of BioGrow and 1/2 cup of spring H2O in the cup for a related experiment; LSS, (Long Story Short - Too Late, lol) the 2-116s I had 'air-sprouted' for that experiment are now here in this phase of it, hence the BioGrow residue on the sides of the cup. Since the mixture had mostly evaporated, I placed the two sprouts on top of the BGEP and maybe had created 'pits' for them to initially reside in. ***This scenario has been under water at length except for its leaves! In any event, the condition they are in and the fact that they are ALIVE and green...SEE REPLIES...

The lil' seedling that could. 166 Gerry ((236 Gerry '17 (1007 Brown X 2145 McMullen) X 1541 McMillin), lol. Planted on the surface of BioGrow Endo Plus on about 1-24-26 with a small amount of H2O, each being about 1 TBSP. in amounts likewise; The seed sprouted and eventually, since it did not have any bearing on up nor down and such, began rooting itself after a few days with some prompting. I'm a fiddler. It is obviously still alive and the central growth is green and the older growth I believe has given up to the plant what the Myco and H2O could perhaps not provide. More to come---eric g

Ummm, The Root System, accordingly complex and has never died that I know of. There WAS a rude, sulfur smell a week or more ago, when it still had the Saran Wrap cloaking around the stem of it, which went away. I will mention again that this seedling's roots were fully-submerged for days at a time. I am thinking that if Myco had anything to do with it, imagine a plant that is waterlogged in the patch - maybe NO problem-o! Additionally, with at least half of the roots above the remaining-water line, in some instances, I couldn't tell or didn't notice the low level. Myco IS supposedly capable of increasing plants' drought tolerance. I'm sounding like I didn't know these things, lol. eric g
Wednesday, March 25 View Page
What was really neat was the really-neat root system, lol. The Myco was like packing material in a shipping box - what do I do with it? Uhhh, start another! Ha ha. I plugged this little darlin' into a SS Mix leftover container; THAT assembly will now get Expert Gardener 24-8-16 at regular strength from now on. Lol - The prescription bottle is lost in the fridge, somewhere. More 'acid-testing'!---eric g

Here she is, Miss Pum..., ah, well, it is doing well from just two days ago and I've added the 24-8-16, as promised. >>>Off-camera, it is doing even better! I can't wait to see its result(s) with the tough life it has had, thus far even entailing a mini, main vine starting, as any other seedling. It is essentially 'MYCO/HYDRO/AGRO' pumpkin-growing! Excited, too, that my other castaways are getting the fert as well...eg
